The Public Service Pledge is a promise made by elected officials and candidates for public office. But a promise only matters when someone holds us to it. Public servants who sign the pledge agree to be accountable to fellow signatories, an independent governing body, and — most importantly — the people they serve.

That is where you come in. By signing as a citizen, you are not pledging allegiance to a candidate, party, or political ideology. You are simply saying: I expect my public servants to live by these standards, and I will hold them accountable when they do not. Ultimately, no governing body can protect the integrity of public service without the people.
